Batteries

banner-batterienWithout a charged battery – even the most powerful car is rendered immobile. Yet the battery is often one of the most neglected components in the entire car. Below are the batteries we supply and some tips on making sure your vehicle starts every time.

We are the cheapest battery supplier in the area and wont be beaten on price!

Connection

Most times your battery will be under your bonnet but in some vehicles and can be located differently. The two grey coloured posts on top of the battery are the terminals and are marked ( + ) for positive and ( – ) for negative. To avoid damaging the electrical system, YOU MUST MAKE SURE THAT THE TERMINALS ARE CONNECTED TO THE APPROPRIATE ELECTRICAL LEAD. If in doubt, consult your car’s handbook or come in and see us for professional advice.

Keeping Charged

Your vehicle battery is just like your normal Duracell AA, it will not work if it has no charge. Providing that your car’s alternator and drive belt are in good working condition, the battery is re-charged automatically as you drive. Or in some cases it can be removed from the car and connected to a domestic mains-powered battery charger. If you do remove the battery you should do so with great caution as it contains sulphuric acid and could be dangerous if dropped.

If you find your battery with no life it may be assisted by connecting it to another car’s battery with jump leads, but keep in mind the terminals described above.

Replacing

As time goes by the condition of the battery will deteriorate until it is unable to hold the charge required and will need to be replaced. If you start to notice that it starts to not hold enough charge to start your vehicle, this is usually the first sign of a replacement being required.
